Upcoming Concerts

Concert 63: Oct. 27

Ranaan Meyer, double bass; Joshua Fobare, piano

An eclectic afternoon reaching from classical to jazz and beyond. We already know Ranaan as one of the leading bassists in the world who has played for us with his mother Norma as part of two of her recitals. He introduces us to Joshua Fobare as a like minded artist able and willing to cross musical styles.

Concert 64: Jan. 12

Kim has played for us as a member of the Maurice River Woodwind Quintet. She a well-known soloist who on this occasion will be joined by her ’cellist husband Doug McNames in a program of works new and old.

Concert 65: Feb. 2

Brennan Sweet, violin; Allison Franzetti, piano

Allison has played for Maurice River Music to great acclaim several times in years past. Now she brings her good friend violinist Brennan Sweet, the associate concertmaster of the New Jersey Symphony, for an afternoon of music ranging from Baroque through 21st Century living composers. They have been performing together since 2007.

Concert 66: Mar. 1

Our long-time friends return, doubtless with music new and old and musical companions to join in the festivities.

We live not far from Mauricetown, NJ.

You must sign up in advance. We seat only 40, so waiting until the last moment is not advisable. We usually have a full audience.

If we have 40 signed up, we keep a waiting list in case there are cancellations. If your plan to attend changes, please let us know as soon as possible!

Newcomers will learn our address when they sign up. Weather permitting, we have a roadside MRM banner near our driveway. Upon arrival, you enter and find a seat. At intermission we have refreshments. At the conclusion of the concert, the now legendary hat is passed. Everything collected goes to the artists. Any checks are made out to the primary performer. Janet and Paul Somers keep nothing. It is suggested that you give what you would have paid to hear the same concert in Wilmington, Philadelphia, or New York, but we don't check what you give.

We look forward to seeing you this season as often as you can make it.
